Former capital of Yugoslavia, Belgrade stands in the beautiful geographical spot, on the confluence of Sava and Danube rivers, where Panonian plane meets the Balkans. Belgrade is one of the oldest cities in the entire Europe marked by turbulent history. In a last few years foreign media described Belgrade as “Berlin of the Balkans”, “The latest European urban success story”and “The fashion capital of tomorrow”. To become “upcoming” culture capital where everybody wants to be this city needs to take some very serious steps, such as: invest in culture, infrastructure, tourism, creative industries, economy, human resources and reach out to the “new renaissance”. But definitely, Belgrade is the capital with a lot of potential to become very trendy destination. It offers rich architecture (from neoclassicism to brutalist style and modernism), stunning festival culture, delicious food, hip restaurants, interesting clubbing scene, hospitality, cool people and unlike other cities has totally unique story to tell.
