Blokovi + Locals photo exhibition and a book promotion take place on the 13th of January from 6 PM in Palmas Boutique in 2 Safarikova St. in Belgrade.
Blokovi is a photographic series shot by Lola Paprocka in Belgrade in August 2015 and published by Palm Studios. Predominantly shot on medium format exploring the New Belgrade apartment blocks and their residents; Blokovi captures a mixture of portraits, still life and architecture images from the brutalist buildings of New Belgrade that are often associated with the Western world misconception of poverty and commission housing estates.
Blokovi publication launched in May 2016 in London being featured at the numerous book fairs from NYC to Melbourne, Sydney, London and Paris. It won an Unveiled Photobook award in UK, in October 2016. It’s been re-published in VICE Photo Issue, i-D and Boys Magazine and featured on line on Dazed & Confused, It’s Nice That, Fotografia Magazine, The British Journal of Photography, Huck Magazine.
With limited copies of the book and prints Blokovi returns to Belgrade as part of a group show with local photographers: Milica Balubdžić, Dušan Rajić, Marija Strajnić, Tatjana Radičević, Zvonimir Koprivica.
