Program for Belgrade
Festival of a contemporary circus „ Cirkobalkana“ will take place in Belgrade from 26th to 2nd October, as an aside program in BITEF Festival. It will also take place in Zagreb from the 4th to the 10th October. It will be organized by Cirkusfera from Belgrade and Cirkorama from Zagreb.
Unlike the ones in the past when the festival was held in a circus marquee as an independent performing space, the festival this year stands out of the framework, but not out of the underlying idea of reinforcing independent performing places so the programme in Belgrade will be held in three locations Center for cultural decontamination, Cultural center REX, Magacin in the Street Kraljevića Marka 4.
Besides the shows, there will also be four workshops of contemporary circus held for children. These workshops tend to introduce the participants to the many circus disciplines which encourage the discovery of nonstandard physical movements, creativity and development of motor skills.
This event was established in 2013 aiming to introduce contemporary circus to the general public and the creators of cultural policies, by way of shows, lectures, workshops and residential programmes.
