Drew McDowall is a Scottish musician best known as the former member of Coil and Psychic TV. As the pillar of the movement we all take the sonic cake from, Drew’s sounds are now as panicky as three decades ago. This year he released ’Unnatural Channel’ LP on LA/NYC-based Dais Records, only two years after his solo debut ’Collapse’ on the same label. The slaughterhouse seems the perfect place for the prevailing feeling of doom emitted from his Unnatural Channel. Overall ambient and industrially rendered, Drew McDowall’s music goes hand in hand with perils of today.
Macao is an independent center for art, culture and research. Guess what? It’s also a former slaughterhouse. Called ’one of Europe’s most spectacular music venues’ by RA, Macao integrates the opinion of the community it communicates with like no other place we’ve heard of, thus making the story and aura around it stronger and more exposed to threats. The collective unfortunately picked up all the debris after the local failure that was Expo Milano 2015 and is now finding ways to fight off, explain and win hearts of the ones with power.
Macao will present five of its troopers on this event:
1 Everest Magma | One man live with two releases on Boring Machines.https://goo.gl/21hjNK
2 Psalm 7:5 | Live improv, danger ahead. https://goo.gl/f18vqa
3 Deceitful Barren | Experiments on windy cliffs. https://goo.gl/fzwGcT
4 Lifecutter | Who likes synths, effect pedals, distortion, different types of heavy music and makes music because he has to. https://goo.gl/4MfV3D
5. VISIO | as the desired form of communication with the divine, a concept that is grounded in the belief that the eyes are the windows to the soul.https://goo.gl/Ks5Mf6
