Drugstore is happy to invite you to a special event to be held on 28th of September – a promotion of the first printed issue of ‘This is Badland’ magazine based in Berlin.
‘This is Badland’ is a biannual print publication and online platform dedicated to the exploration of art, design, and culture from the Balkans. Their main goal is to ‘feature ideas inspired by the social, cultural or geographic phenomena connected to this abstract, dynamic region in order to renegotiate, reinvent and deconstruct them.’ As well, ‘Badland seeks to open up new perspectives by celebrating the complexity of our fragmented sense of culture and the new Balkan identities that extend beyond geopolitical borders.’
It is a unique platform for introducing all the ambiguities and contradictions of the Balkan culture through representing its artists all over Europe. The event starts at 8 pm with a free cocktail hour and will include an exhibition that will present the work of artists featured in the first issue and a special musical program.
Visitors will have a chance to take a glance at the magazine and buy a reduced price publication, to meet featured artists and talk to them about future collaborations.
RIP Swirl, DJ Birne, and Ali Güney will be responsible for the DJ deck, and just recently we have included an intriguing musician that had an amazing performance on this year Atonal festival, Daniel Araya.
