The 12th Science Festival will welcome visitors from across the region, leading them with a range of exhibitions, experiments, shows and workshops on a unique journey through Future Earth from 29th of November until 2nd of December at the Belgrade Fair!

The largest science festival in Southeast Europe, this year is held under the slogan Future Earth with the goal of examining the future of our planet, but also to offer scientific, environmental and sustainable solutions for generations ahead of us. All this, just like previous years, with a lot of interesting experiments, exciting challenges and the latest scientific trends that scientists from around the world bring to Belgrade this autumn.

When you think about the future, what exactly do you imagine? Is the future filled with cities in the sky? Is the sky full of cars that fly like airplanes? How much space is left under that sky for nature and are we still a part of it? Will we spend our summer vacations on a different planet in the not too distant future, or will we be forced to move there? Is there „another planet“ for us at all?

It’s high time to deal with the future of all of us that breathe, dream and grow on a planet called Earth. And precisely because of that, it’s time for us to learn how to save it! Because time is running out, just as natural resources from which we all depend on are running out as well. So how do we use them in the „right“ way? How do we harness technology to be in the service of our planet and of all of us who live on it? What can an individual do for Earth, and what will we be best at if we join forces?

By the end of this century nearly eleven billion people will live on Earth, and pressures on resource availability will be enormous. The next ten years will be crucial for making drastic changes that will enable the humanity to meet new centuries and millennia. With the help of science, innovation that will significantly change the way we look at the world, the way we experience and use the world around us and its resources, will happen on all fronts. Sustainable development, so far the most complex and most concise term, through the development of technology and awareness of people will slowly become a more attainable goal of humanity!

Therefore, think again. When we talk about the future, maybe we shouldn’t think about what we imagine, but rather what we are prepared to do for it? It doesn’t have to be grim. It can be completely green! It has to be for all of us. And it starts right now!

This year’s Science Festival will be held at Halls 3, 3A and 5 of Belgrade fair. That is how Future Earth will occupy 6,500 square meters and bring together more than 60 scientific and educational institutions of Serbia. This means that each visitor that gets ready to travel to Future Earth will be welcomed by more than 600 scientists and scientific demonstrators willing to use their knowledge and skills to make a nicer, greener and safer place to live.

Working hours of the festival: from 10 am until 7 pm
