Summer in Belgrade can be very boiling hot and tiresome, but quite amusing too. The tourist season has already begun and we seem to have an ever growing number of foreign visitors each year. Given that some locals might not be able to afford summer holidays, they are left with an option to chill in outdoor places, summer gardens, swimming pools and rafts on the Sava and the Danube rivers. We are hereby presenting some hot spots that we love to visit during the summer, and some of them we failed to mention earlier on Still in Belgrade.
Hot Mess
Ibiza style club and a bar that stands in the line up complete with other rafts on the Sava river. It’s unique for its deep house music at the daily matinee and DJ gigs at night. Its other interesting features are a small swimming pool and its interior design. Hot Mess works during the summer season only. Visitors normally drink cocktails and drinks mixed with vodka. Prices are above average for Belgrade standards. The people there tend to like to dress up and come across as cool, especially during the night. Some people tend to consider it one of those poseurs and flashy dressers type of clubs in the city. If you are up for it, put on your best bikini, grab your wallet or a purse, buy a sun tan lotion and hurry up.
Lasta
City splav (raft) Lasta is another summer hot spot well worth a visit. It offers the best Sunday matinee that starts around 19 h. The club normally hosts foreign deep house DJs that are supported by local ones. Interior is all in white and the club normally gets packed with people during the evenings. Lasta opens its doors during the summer and offers clubbing weekends. There are different kinds of people there, but most of them are similar to the ones at Hot Mess. The raft is located on the banks of the river Sava, near Belgrade Fair. So, take your best summer outfit and enjoy Belgrade summer vibes on the well-known Lasta Sunday matinee.
Kurosava Exclusive Caruga
This place is anything but exclusive. Sounds like a contradiction in terms. But, there is the catch. Kurosava is a very cool place, located on the river Sava, not far from Lasta splav, right across Belgrade Fair. Kurosava is a summer lounge on the river where people chill and drink beer. Prices are rather affordable. If you are in luck you can get to eat some cakes and pasta and watch the sunset sitting on the swing above the water.
Bašta Martaan
This is a lovely spot indeed in the Dorćol neighborhood. Well hidden from the traffic jams, between buildings in 26 Dositejeva street. The locals love it. Bašta Martaan offers the vintage interior and a nice summer garden. It’s a perfect place to have dinner, a glass of wine and a coffee break with friends.
Jazz Kafanica Bajloni
And last but not least, Jazz kafanica Bajloni. Another Dorćol’s hot spot. It is located near the famous Bajloni green market and even more famous Skadarska Bohemian quarter. Jazz music, live gigs and generally nice crowd. It includes a lovely, big garden and also a lovely interior. It’s definitely a cool place to be in where you can experience the summer in Belgrade
