Raveolution Presents: Art Department & Oxia at Belgrade Fair

The new edition of Raveolution Party will host Art Department and Oxia at Belgrade Fair on the 1^st of April. The party will be kicking off at 11 PM . Art Department, the infamous electronic music act, has made almost unprecedented success within the world of dance music in recent years. A Canadian Jonny White, acting Head of No.19 Music, is now the lone driving force behind the influential project that began as a collaborative effort with a long time friend Kenny Glasgow in 2009.

The prolific producer’s original style landed AD at the forefront of a major underground music movement, transcending genre barriers and breaking down walls in the way that only a few other underground artists have done so far. Their game-changing contribution to the electronic music landscape has been indesputable, garnering accolades such as ‘#1 Track of the Year’ at the Beatport Awards in 2011, the iTunes #2 ‘Best Electronic Album’ of 2011, hailed as the “hottest duo in dance music” from media outlets such as DJ Mag, awarded the 2010 ‘Track of the Year’ for their breakout hit ‘Without You’ by long-standing authorities like Resident Advisor (UK), Groove Mag (Germany), and #2 in Mixmag (US), and voted #6 Top DJ’s in the world in 2012. The duo have also graced the covers of DJMag Canada, Now Magazine, DJ Times, Raveline Magazine and have been widely featured in the press, including The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Vogue, I:D, Nylon and Vibe Magazine; who seem to have ranked them #2 DJ/Producers in the world in 2013 (second only to Daft Punk), establishing them on a firm foothold as somewhat of a curiosity in the world of electronic music.

Olivier Raymond, born in 1971 in Grenoble (France), got into “black music” (disco & funk) already in his early teens. During college years, Olivier’s friendship with Stephane Deschezeaux, kick started a musical journey of the sort, with a debut on a local radio station broadcasting a show dedicated to Funk … So, only being 15 years of age at the time, Olivier started ‘mixing’. Olivier’s mixes were influenced by a wide range of music styles: italo-disco, New wave and the early Chicago and New-York house scene.

By 1991, Stephane and Olivier bought their first bits of equipment and started to compose music. Not too long after that, Olivier became a resident DJ at a club in Grenoble, jump starting a career in electronic music! It was by 1994, that the experiments of Stephane and Olivier became official. Their live act ‘Oxia’ was born.

In 1995, Olivier and Stéphane met Michel Amato (The Hacker), Alex Reynaud and Kiko in Grenoble, the electronic-tuned city of France. That same year Olivier created Ozone records together with Kiko, where Oxia released the first EP. Under the very same ‘seal’., Olivier also co-produced the first releases of Jack de Marseille.
