In our column Meet a local we present interesting individuals from different professional fields living in Belgrade. The idea is to get to know some locals and their favorite neighborhoods and venues in the city.

Please introduce yourself to our readers:

Hi, my name is Vuk Smiljanic. I’m born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia and I’ve been deejaying and producing music for about 10 years now.

Has there been a new project lately?

I’m always trying to express myself, so I started this year by opening a cafeteria in the neighborhood I was born and raised. Also, a year ago, I established an Amusement Park marketing agency that helps small businesses run their social media.

What do you like about Belgrade?

Just about everything, but if I have to choose between them, it would be vibe and energy, people, food, and nightlife.

Where do you like to go out?

Unfortunately, almost all of the places I’ve gone clubbing for the past 10 years are now closed, my favorites were The Tube, Mladost, Ludost, Gajba, and Gadost, but my current favorites are Troika Bar and Ben Akiba Club.

Name 3 of your favorite restaurants in the city.

Bistro Mali Pijac, Rubin, 1000 Ruza, Pizzeria Emma

Where do you drink coffee?

Soon that place will be my cafeteria, besides that, there are great coffee shops, like Java Coffee, Przionica, and Leila Records.

Where do you spend your leisure time?

Usually at home, or at a friend’s garage.

Name your 3 favorite locations in Belgrade and justify your choice.

Avala, because of its nature, fresh air, and amazing view.

Dorcol, because of the best fashion concept store Disciplina.

Bubanj Potok – the best flea market in Belgrade.
