Jürgen Bürgin and Бартcелона gallery invite you to the photography exhibition “Circus”, on Monday the 6th of Novembar at 7 pm. The exhibition will be opened until November the 18th.
 
Jürgen Bürgin is a photographer based in Berlin, Germany, born in 1971. His work has been exhibited in Berlin, Potsdam, Sydney, New York, Bratislava, Potsdam, Cologne, Hamburg etc. His photographs have won several awards, including an award by the renowed Berlin based photography gallery C/O Berlin. He has been shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Award, as an Urban Photographer of the Year, and he took second place at the Brennpunkt Award of the Browse Fotofestival in Berlin. In 2016 Jürgen published his photo book URBAN FEVER – Scenes from City Life.
The exhibition will include also the words by Anna-Sophie Jürgens, she is a Humboldt postdoctoral fellow at the Humanities Research Center of the Australian National University (Canberra). Her work on circus in fiction and artistic research has been published internationally in books and papers. Anna-Sophie is especially interested in the affinities between circus and literary fiction which build upon narrative elements inherent in the arts of the ring, and have developed into a dispersed genre of inventing and fabricating – stories, things and beings.
