The Belgrade Urban Oases project will revitalize three neglected urban spaces in Belgrade, harnessing the power of art and community engagement. During this initiative, selected locations will be redesigned with a focus on new green spaces and urban elements.

For the new, participatory design of these locations, students from the Forestry and Architecture faculties, in collaboration with their professors, domestic and international experts, and the local community, will be responsible. The Belgrade Urban Oases project will also involve activating the local community through urban design workshops for citizens, public events, and artistic interventions, with active participation from beneficiaries of both centers. This will create key urban points that promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and inclusivity. The project will take place throughout 2024.

The three urban spaces in focus are the surroundings of the Center for Youth Integration in Zvezdara, the Center for the Accommodation and Day Care of Children and Youth with Developmental Disabilities in Julino Brdo, and the location near the Forestry Faculty’s arboretum in Banovo Brdo.
