The UK band Shame are heading to the Balkans this week, performing for the first time in Belgrade and bringing their ferocious live show along for the ride to mark their new album Cutthroat.
Few bands have nailed the raw energy and restless chaos of the UK post-punk scene quite like Shame. Bursting out of London’s underground in the mid-2010s, the five-piece – fronted by the magnetic Charlie Steen, Eddie Green (guitarist), Sean Coyle-Smith (guitarist), Josh Finerty (bassist), Charlie Forbes (drummer) – quickly became one of the loudest, most vital voices of a new generation of guitar music. Their debut Songs of Praise (2018) hit like a shot of adrenaline to British indie, while follow-ups Drunk Tank Pink (2021) and Food for Worms (2023) saw the band push themselves further, embracing chaos, vulnerability, and a wicked sense of humour along the way.

Now, seven years in, Shame are back with their fourth album, Cutthroat (2025) – produced by Grammy-winner John Congleton, self-assured work that pushes the five-piece into new territory, strips things down, and hits straight for the jugular: raw, confrontational, and darkly funny. Steen calls it a nod to the spirit of their debut, but it’s clear the band are sharper, bolder, and fully in their element.

As part of their European tour, Shame will perform at the Klub Močvara in Zagreb on 22 October, Zappa Baza in Belgrade on 23 October, and round out the regional leg in Sofia, at Club Mixtape 5 on 24 October 2025.

Known for physically charged, high-octane performances, audiences should brace for nights of sweat, noise, and uncompromising energy – exactly what’s made them one of the most vital live acts of their generation.
Tickets for the Zagreb show are available via the INmusic Festival webshop, while Belgrade fans can grab theirs through tickets.rs.
