June 13, 2025 at 8 PM – Belgrade Philharmonic Hall
Belgrade will soon host a special musical event. On June 13, 2025, at 8 PM, the concert stage of the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall will come alive with the sounds of Alex Solely, a Russian composer and pianist who continues his artistic journey right here in Belgrade. This concert is not only a musical spectacle but also his first solo performance in the city that has become his new home, adding emotional depth to his creative work.
From a classically trained pianist to one of the leading figures in contemporary neoclassical music, Solely blends minimalism, cinematic atmosphere, and piano introspection. His debut album Piano Solely, released in May 2024 in collaboration with American label ONErpm, quickly gained international acclaim, winning a Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards in the neoclassical category.
His music carries powerful narratives—compositions such as Seagull, Memory, and Dream tell stories through sound, from the whisper of waves to emotional recollections, connecting the past with the present.
Alex Solely graduated from the prestigious Gnesin State Musical College in Moscow and the Berklee College of Music in Boston. His artistic vision took on a strong visual identity during the Belgrade launch of Piano Solely, where he was joined on stage by the Meraki String Quartet and fellow musician Kamil Egelev on the Clavinova. Set designer Alisa Solovyeva and visual artist Aleksandar Ljapunov further enriched the concert atmosphere.
In March 2025, Solely released a concert version of the composition Dream, announcing his second album titled The Home Concert, released on May 29. The album features guest violinist Artem Len on several tracks and was mastered at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, renowned for collaborations with The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and many others.
For his upcoming concert at the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, Alex Solely will be joined on stage by the Meraki String Quartet, Milan Pavković on double bass, and Dušan Ivanišević on drums.
“For me, the piano is a whole orchestra. I hear strings, drums—even the sound of wind in it,”
said Alex Solely, reflecting his poetic approach to composition.
His music does not strive for technical virtuosity but seeks to convey sincere emotions and universal stories that transcend boundaries.
