Metempsychosis: Ivana Bašić
20 June – 31 August 2025
Opening: Friday, 20 June at 19:00
Venue: Salon of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Belgrade
The Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade presents Metempsychosis, a solo exhibition by New York–based Serbian artist Ivana Bašić. Curated by Miroslav Karić and Zlata Vučetić, the exhibition features new sculptures and drawings that explore the posthuman body—fragile yet resilient—caught in a state of transformation.
Bašić’s hybrid forms, crafted from wax, glass, resin, bronze, stainless steel, and alabaster, inhabit the space between the human, mechanical, and otherworldly. Her work confronts themes of war, exile, trauma, and survival, revealing beauty within the grotesque and tenderness within violence.
Jess malo sutra: Joškin Šiljan
25 July – 17 August 2025
Opening: Friday, 25 July at 19:00
Venue: Salon of the Belgrade City Museum
The Belgrade City Museum, in co-production with Štab Gallery, presents Jess malo sutra, a solo exhibition by celebrated Serbian artist Joškin Šiljan (Nebojša Stojković). The show spans multiple periods of his career, featuring large-format canvases, works on paper—including the award-winning Face series—drawings, paintings on tarpaulin, and wooden and metal objects.
Curated by Slavko Timotijević and Ana Kršljanin, the exhibition reflects Šiljan’s distinctive, instinct-driven artistic approach—marked by unpredictability, vivid color, and the playful deconstruction of strict visual and linguistic structures. His work embraces freedom as a form of resistance, celebrating humor, wit, and the act of creative liberation.
