Beldocs International Documentary Film Festival returns for its 19th edition, taking place May 20–26, 2026, across multiple venues in Belgrade.

This year’s festival presents over 100 short and feature-length documentaries, alongside VR experiences and interactive works, offering audiences a dynamic overview of the most relevant trends in contemporary documentary filmmaking.

A Diverse and Timely Program

Beldocs 2026 brings together an exciting mix of regional voices and internationally acclaimed films, including festival hits, award-winning titles, and a significant number of world and European premieres.

Thematically, the program highlights:

  • Science and technology
  • Migration and global mobility
  • Human relationships with nature and animals
  • Biographical and music documentaries
  • Films based on archival materials and historical perspectives
  • Media, journalism, and media literacy in contemporary society

In addition to traditional formats, the festival embraces innovation through VR works and video games, expanding the boundaries of documentary storytelling and audience engagement.

Strong Focus on Regional Talent

As in previous years, Beldocs places a strong emphasis on local and regional filmmakers, showcasing a carefully curated national program that reflects the growing quality and diversity of documentary production in Serbia and the Balkans.

The festival continues to support emerging voices and new authorial approaches, while connecting the local scene with global industry trends.

Beldocs Industry: Where Projects Grow

Beyond screenings, the Beldocs Industry segment gathers film professionals from Serbia and abroad through:

  • Workshops and training sessions
  • Panels and discussions
  • Talks and masterclasses

Filmmakers will have the opportunity to develop and pitch their projects to leading mentors and decision-makers, including representatives of festivals, TV networks, film funds, distributors, and VOD platforms.
