IDLES Head to the Balkans This June

IDLES, the blistering Bristol post-punk band known for turning rage into catharsis, are bringing their ferocious live energy to the Balkans this June. On 26 June 2026, they will play Belgrade’s new open-space venue New Tekstil, as part of a regional run that also takes in Zagreb, Sofia and Shtip.

Honeycomb Live and Connected Agency proudly present IDLES in what promises to be one of the standout Serbian shows of summer 2026. On 26 June, New Tekstil (86 Dunavska Street) hosts one of the most vital live bands in the world right now, with support from Repetitor (SRB) and ŽEN (CRO).

Formed in Bristol in 2009, the five-piece – Joe Talbot (vocals), Adam Devonshire (bass), Mark Bowen and Lee Kiernan (guitars), and Jon Beavis (drums) – built their reputation the hard way. A run of early EPs – Welcome, Meat and Meta – laid the groundwork for a sound that balanced confrontation with vulnerability and quickly marked them out as something more than just another guitar band.

That came fully into focus with Brutalism (2017), a raw, visceral debut that helped define a new wave of British post-punk. Just over a year later, Joy as an Act of Resistance pushed them from the underground into global view, earning nominations for both the Mercury Prize and the BRIT Awards. They followed it with the blunt force of Ultra Mono (2020) and the bruised intensity of Crawler (2022), before TANGK expanded their sound again and delivered some of their biggest songs to date.

Across that run of records, IDLES have made a catalogue full of honesty, vulnerability and defiant joy, while consistently pushing back against the usual clichés of aggression and macho posturing. But as ever with this band, the live show is where it all lands hardest.

IDLES have long been one of those bands best understood in a room full of people. Their gigs are intense, noisy and physical, but never aimless – there is control beneath the chaos, and a sense of connection that makes the whole thing feel bigger than a standard tour stop. That is what Belgrade gets this June: not just another date on the schedule, but a band in their natural element.
