Fall in Belgrade: Top 3 Events You Can’t Miss

Belgrade never fails to surprise, and this late September and October, the city transforms into a hub of music, art, and outdoor enjoyment. From international festivals to the last outdoor gatherings of the season, here are three events that perfectly capture the city’s vibrant spirit.

1. Belgrade Saxperience – September 25–27

At the end of September, Belgrade becomes the capital of the saxophone. The 12th International Saxophone Festival in Serbia – Belgrade Saxperience – will bring together renowned artists from Serbia and around the world, offering audiences and musicians a unique experience through concerts, masterclasses, and workshops.

The festival celebrates an instrument synonymous with freedom and improvisation in jazz, while bringing new expressiveness and emotion to classical and contemporary music. Over three days, five concerts will be held at prestigious locations – the Atrium of the National Museum, Bioskop Balkan, and the Belgrade Cultural Center – featuring prominent artists and ensembles.

Visitors will have the chance to explore all the colors and possibilities of the saxophone, from classical compositions to avant-garde sound experiments. Whether you’re a music aficionado or just curious, this festival promises unforgettable performances.

2. Changeover Festival – October 8–11

For lovers of experimental electronic music and underground culture, the Changeover Festival is the ultimate destination. This four-day festival transforms Belgrade into a cutting-edge platform for avant-garde sounds, electronic beats, and boundary-pushing art.

The 2025 edition features over 80 performances across multiple venues, including Karmakoma, KC Grad, Zappa Baza, DIM, Drugstore, Mačkin Dom, Bitef Teatar, and Modula. Highlights include artists like Moin, Astrid Sonne, Lust For Youth, Širom, Neon Fir, and Vukašin Đelić Group, representing a diverse mix of experimental rock, electronic, avant-garde pop, and noise from Serbia and around the globe.

In addition to live performances, the festival hosts a music industry conference, offering workshops, networking, and panels for professionals and enthusiasts alike. Whether you’re seeking innovative sounds or want to immerse yourself in Belgrade’s thriving arts scene, the Changeover Festival is an unmissable event this October.
