The Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade has prepared a diverse programme of guided tours and educational activities throughout July, inviting visitors to engage more deeply with its current exhibitions.
A highlight of the programme is the thematic tour “On the Road”, taking place on 25 July at 1 pm as part of the exhibition Turning Points Towards Modernity: Art of Society 1900–1945. The tour explores how travel for education, professional development, and personal discovery shaped artists’ worldviews and influenced the evolution of modern Serbian art. Through selected artworks, visitors will follow the traces of European cultural centres, encounters with different landscapes and ideas, and the creative exchange that contributed to the modernization of artistic expression in the first half of the twentieth century. The tour will be led by museum educator Katarina Kuč.
Visitors interested in a broader introduction to the museum’s exhibitions can join regular guided tours in Serbian on 16, 23 and 30 July at 6 pm, as well as 18 July at 1 pm. Alongside Turning Points Towards Modernity, audiences can explore Personal Stories / Political Realities, a major international exhibition organized in cooperation with the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lyon, featuring more than seventy works by artists from Serbia, the former Yugoslav region, and the international contemporary art scene.
Guided tours will be led by museum associates Luka Pajović and Katarina Kuč.
Russian-language tours of all current exhibitions will take place on 16 and 30 July at 6 pm, guided by museum associate Veronika Podriadova.
The museum’s youngest visitors can take part in the Children’s Club, featuring creative workshops on 18 July at 12 pm, 19 July at 11 am, and 25 July at 12 pm and 2 pm. The workshops are led by educational coordinator Milena Radović.
