City of the Sun Brings Their Cinematic Sound to Sprat

Acoustic guitars, restless percussion and cinematic climaxes—without a single vocal. New York instrumental trio City of the Sun returns to Belgrade on 16 September at 8 p.m., performing at Sprat with material from their latest album, Under the Moon.

City of the Sun create music that needs no words. Their distinctive sound blends acoustic guitars, intricate rhythms and atmospheric arrangements, moving effortlessly between indie rock, American folk, flamenco and blues. Subtle melodic details gradually unfold into sweeping, cinematic crescendos.

Formed in 2011, the trio built its audience the old-fashioned way: through street performances and relentless touring, progressing from the streets of New York to major international festivals. Live performance remains at the heart of their music—physical, spontaneous, and fuelled by the energy of the audience.

In April, the band released Under the Moon, a 13-track album that continues to explore their signature acoustic, rhythm-driven, and cinematic instrumental sound. Their intimate concert at Sprat offers the Belgrade audience an opportunity to experience this new material live and up close.

Date: 16 September, 8 p.m.
Venue: Sprat, Belgrade
Tickets: From 2,200 RSD
