“The Stranger”, the latest film by acclaimed French director

François Ozon
brings a fresh and deeply personal adaptation of one of the most influential novels of the 20th century.

Based on the legendary work of
Albert Camus, this new cinematic interpretation revisits the character of Meursault with a contemporary sensibility, while staying faithful to the philosophical core that has fascinated readers for more than 80 years.

Set in Algiers, 1938, the story follows a quiet office clerk whose emotional detachment from the world around him slowly unfolds into a dramatic and tragic sequence of events. Ozon approaches the material with both reverence and boldness, aware that every reader carries their own version of The Stranger. His adaptation offers a new visual and emotional layer to this timeless narrative.

The film is now available in cinemas across Belgrade.

If you appreciate literature adaptations, existential drama, and refined European cinema, this one deserves your attention.
