From the 18th of February until the 7th of March

Belgrade artist Srdjan Veljović will present on the 18th of February exhibition “Beautiful life as excess” which is a sort of continuation of  the multi-year project, and represents the embodiment in a personal and intimate photographic documentation of his family.

Veljović in a way, as young art historian Vladimir Bjeličić said, realizes reenactment of the past exhibition with the same title from 2005, but this time  skeptical and from a distance, and explores  a given topic in another direction  by redefining  exposed photos  and introducing the new element – the video.

Discusses simultaneously photographic media (traditionally a nice photo) and a fundamental pillar of any society – (hetero) family, Veljović finds monotony and repetitiveness of imposed social constructs, ironically performing the thesis of beauty of life as excess.
