The third part of our Belgrade Summer Guide includes open-air venues, clubs, and summer gardens. We will also suggest several cocktail bars and restaurants that are worth visiting. So let’s start with the clubbing section.

CLUBS

During the summer season, open-air parties are happening around the city. One of our favorite venues is Barutana– an iconic open-air club at the Belgrade Fortress. There you can catch a well-established DJ from the international scene and some local club ‘heroes’.

For instance, electronic music aficionados can listen to Lee Burridge at Barutana on the 23rd of September and Fred P on the 3rd of September.

Bitef Art Cafe

Likewise, an open-air venue that might be worth a visit is the BITEF Summer club at Kalemegdan park. BITEF is a well-known venue for lovers of pop, jazz, and soul music. In this club, you can expect local bands and renewed international starts such as KOVACS on the 29th and 30th of September.

We also like the Drugstore summer garden where you can go dancing to techno music. Drugstore is a techno cathedral located in Palilula’s former industrial zone. There you can also listen to world-class techno performers and great local DJs such as Stevie Whisper for instance.

Next to the Drugstore club, we would suggest the ever-popular 20/44 boat that you have probably heard of in the media. This is a raft (In Serb. splav) that stands on the Sava river where you can party until the early morning hours and catch the sunrise over the old town. The 20/44 boat features local and foreign disco, house, techno DJs, and live acts.

Also, club HALF can be a great after-hour suggestion. There you can listen to electronic music and get friendly with the local crowd.

COCKTAIL BARS & RAFTS

We prefer KUCICA na vodi raft where you can dance, chill and drink cocktails. This is a trendy local place that stands on the Sava River near Belgrade fair. The music ranges from disco to house music. This is definitely our recommendation if you want to grab a drink or a few drinks.

Another recommendation is a new indoor cocktail bar called Hanky Panky in the Upper Dorcol area. Bring only cash to this new place and enjoy your cocktail at the bar.
We also like a tiny cocktail bar that actually has a small yard on the sidewalk. The Barblija bar is tucked among historical buildings of the old town. It’s a great place for relaxing, chatting and grabbing a cocktail.

RESTAURANTS & SUMMER GARDENS

When it comes to restaurants with summer gardens we would like to recommend Mezestoran Dvoriste as our all-time favorite. Here you can eat a mix of Greek and Mediterranean food, drink wine from Crete and feel the vibe of Belgrade’s historical quarter.

Our second recommendation is the JAM restaurant in Dorcol. This is a great fine dining restaurant. You can enjoy international cuisine at fine prices. The third restaurant that we would suggest is located in Dedinje. Hyde Park is a funky restaurant with interesting interior design tacked among villas in Belgrade’s posh neighborhood.
Please book a table before coming to restaurants.

Makadam, photo credits: Makadam Facebook page

We would also like to point out LJUTIC, as a great garden to drink coffee or beer, and bars such as Skica and Kornjaca Turtle pub that is located at the historical Kosancicev Venac. If you want a grab a glass of Prosecco do not hesitate to visit Pastis or Makadam.
