NYC-based Mike Parkers Trio Theory will play on Wednesday, 19th April at KC Grad in Savamala. Concert starts at 22: 30. Admission fee costs 250 RSD.

For an all-acoustic jazz unit this band transmits an electrifying presence…
Parker and associates produce music that is meaningful and inspiring’ – All About Jazz ‘An ingenious synthesis of all musical genres; a seemingly impossible combination of Charlie Parker with Michael Jackson’s groove, sauced up with a defiance worthy of John Zorn… It is all that jazz should be: original, fresh, unpredictable, symbiotic in group improvisation, and all that with a sense of humor.’ – JazzPRESS

New York bassist and composer Mike Parker is joined by 2-time Grammy nominee Frank Parker (Kurt Elling Quartet) on drums and Krakow, Poland’s fiery tenor saxophonist Slawek Pezda. Together, they take the jazz trio format and inject it with the raw energy of Rock, the dynamic sensitivity of Classical, the textural palette of the Avant-Garde, and the rhythmic and harmonic diversity of Modern Jazz.

The trio began in November ’14 by completing a marathon tour of 27 concerts in 27 nights. Since then, they have played over 150 concerts across 9 countries including the Krokus Jazz Festival (PL), Jazz Festival Praha, Jazz Goes To Town (CZ), MediaWave Festival (HU), Jazzire Festival (RS), Targu Mures International Jazz Festival (RO), and many more. In April ’16 they released Parker’s third album ‘Alive Out There’, recorded live on their Fall ’15 tour. Their Spring ’17 Tour will take them all the way from Croatia and Slovenia to Estonia, Latvia and everywhere in between.
