In our column Meet a local we present interesting individuals from different professional fields living in Belgrade. The idea is to get to know some locals and their favorite neighborhoods and venues in the city.

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers:
Hello, I’m Iv (Eve)! Sometimes I like to pretend to be a tourist in my own city, and I’m sitting in my studio doing graphic design when I’m not walking around with a camera and takeaway coffee. I don’t know if you know, but Belgrade is very inspiring, especially in early autumn.

2. Has there been a new project lately? Actually yes! I’ve been preparing it for a month now. It is a new collection of mugs and products for my online shop. I can’t wait to publish it, as it will mark 10 years of my blog.

3. What do you like about Belgrade?

I love that he is always lively and perky. And on Sundays, while it’s raining, at 11 o’clock in the evening, something is always open somewhere, something is always happening somewhere. I rarely feel lonely in Belgrade. I also love the architecture of the old part of the town, facades, windows, and small bars where you can sit down for a coffee and a croissant without having to plan reservations or outfits.

4. Where do you like to go out?
I’m not the type who goes out often in the evening, but if I could choose a place, it would be a concert venue. Before the concert, you must warm up in a pub or an old tavern, and after the show, you can have an after-party in one of the iconic clubs. The whole part of the Cetinjska district – offers all that in one place.

5. Name 3 of your favorite restaurants in the city?
Uh, this is a tricky question because I’m a big foodie. But let’s say: Homa Bistro (for lasagna and a glass of local wine), Pizza Fabrika (a little gem on Vračar with the best pizza in town), and Fat Boys (for delicious burgers and craft beer).

6. Where do you drink coffee?
At home. 🙂 But I like to go and spend part of my working day with a cup of coffee and a laptop at Robusta, Kozmetičar, or Bistro Tri (3). The quality of the coffee is essential to me, but also the atmosphere itself, the (non)crowd, the music played in the cafe…
When I need takeaway coffee, I go to Kafeterija or Kofein.

7. Where do you spend your leisure time?
I haven’t had it lately, haha. But I like to walk, so even when I hang out with someone, I usually always suggest long walks around the city, discovering new streets, cafes, and restaurants.
When I need peace and quiet, I spend time at home with movie marathons and snuggling.

8. Name your 3 favorite locations in Belgrade and justify your choice.

Vračar – this is a gastronomic tour around the Kalenić market. You first go to the farmers market for fresh ingredients, then to the local butchers and delicatessen shops. There are also wineries and a couple of pubs with craft beer if someone prefers beer. And finally, the best restaurants are here in Vračar, where you can sit down for coffee or brunch after a tour around Kalenić.

Dorćol – for afternoon walks, whether you’re going shopping for Belgrade handmade gifts, picking up vinyl, or getting ready to go out with your friends.

Zemun – the Zemun quay is beautiful in itself, but if you walk to the Gardoš tower and stop at one of the restaurants on the river for a glass of spritzer – this can be your favorite date, I promise! In the summer a boat goes to the Lido, so you can steal some beach and swim for yourself.
