Workshop DISAPPEARED PLACES
Disappeared places, abandoned, demolished buildings in Belgrade are the theme of the open workshop. Participants will be asked to choose a place which belongs to one of those categories and then paint/draw it on a piece of wood with acrylic colors or pencils. The attempt is to make a portrait of the city starting from places that no longer exist or are no longer accessible. The result will be a map of Belgrade based on the memories of the people involved. Participation to the workshop is free and open to everyone. The attempt is to involve a diverse group of people not necessarily related to contemporary art. Any special technical skills in drawing are not required. The key point is to remember and to give shape to a memory (af a place) in order to fix it in time and to share it with other.

The artist’s book ITALIAN ALPHABET HAS 21 LETTERS by Rebecca Agnes is a product of research in language and words. Comparing different alphabets, taking the Italian alphabet as reference, the artist created a short illustrated collection of letters and words in different languages. The languages included in the book are those spoken by the people related with the artist. The book intends to show the limits of one data language and simultaneously reveals the similarities of distant languages.

Rebecca Agnes was born in 1978 in Pavia. She graduated from the Accademia di Brera in Milan in 2001, where she lived until 2006, when he moved to Berlin. WORKSHOP LUOGHI SCOMPARSI, SPAZI ABBANDONATI ED INACCESSIBILI

Il workshop sarà frutto della collaborazione e curatela di due realtà attive nella città di Belgrado: Beo_Project e REMONT.
Lo scopo del workshop è realizzare un ritratto della città partendo da quei luoghi che non ci sono più o che non sono (più) accessibili. Alle persone coinvolte sarà chiesto di disegnare un luogo che rientri in una delle seguenti categorie: luoghi scomparsi, edifici abbandonati, demoliti (o incompiuti). Discriminante è che siano a Belgrado, che siano reali e che abbiano (avuto) una qualche funzione collettiva/ sociale (non devono riguardare solamente la sfera privata dei partecipanti). Il risultato sarà una mappatura del territorio che si basa sulle memorie delle persone coinvolte, ne mostrerà i cambiamenti e le mancanze.

Il libro d’artista è il prodotto della ricerca di Rebecca Agnes sul linguaggio e sulla parola. Confrontando diversi alfabeti, e tenendo come riferimento l’alfabeto italiano, ha creato una breve raccolta illustrata di lettere e parole in lingue differenti. Le lingue incluse nel libro sono quelle parlata dalle persone che conosce l’artista. Il libro vuole mostrare da un lato i limiti di visione dati da un’unica lingua e contemporaneamente fa emergere le somiglianze di lingue distanti fra loro.
