The 48th Salon of Architecture, one of Serbia’s most important annual events dedicated to contemporary architecture, is taking place at the Museum of Applied Art and runs until May 5, 2026. Established in 1974, the Salon has long served as a key platform for presenting, evaluating, and critically reflecting on current architectural production in Serbia.
This year’s edition is organized in cooperation with the Association of Architects of Serbia, the Association of Serbian Architectural Practices, and the Women’s Architectural Society, emphasizing solidarity, collaboration, and collective strength within the architectural community.
The central theme of the 2026 edition, “Moving Space,” calls for architecture to actively respond to today’s pressing social, ecological, and cultural challenges. The exhibition examines architectural practice through the lens of global issues such as climate change and migration, while also addressing local social realities and the future of urban development in Serbia.
Through this curatorial concept, the Salon opens three key directions of reflection: strengthening professional unity, encouraging critical thinking around preservation and renewal of heritage and resources, and advancing collective responsibility toward the planet.
Alongside the main exhibition, visitors can expect a rich accompanying program featuring workshops for children, panel discussions, public guided tours, and the annual awards and recognitions ceremony.
Running through early May, the 48th Salon of Architecture offers an important opportunity to engage with the evolving role of architecture in shaping resilient, inclusive, and forward-looking cities.
