Eugenio Recuenco Creates Cubism-Inspired Fashion Photographs

Madrid-based fashion photographer Eugenio Recuenco has recently created photo series inspired by art movement Cubism and the works of the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. During his cubist period, Picasso’s women were painted awkward and strange looking as in all cubist artworks where objects are analyzed, broken up and reassembled in an abstracted form. Instead of depicting objects from one point of view, the artist depicts the subject from a multitude of viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context.

In one way the modern Spanish author Eugenio pays homage to the famous artist, while in the other he creates original pieces putting them in the brand new context.  The fashion photos are drawn from the postures, moods, and clothing of the paintings, each offering something very unique to its viewers. Eugenio Recuenco definitely knows how to make intelligent and high-aesthetic fashion photography that is attractive not just to art connoisseurs, but also to people who are not familiar with art and art history.
