interior design

Something new and exciting is happening in Belgrade design scene. New brand is here. ABO, by Iva Ljubinkovic (Architecture graduate, PHD studies ), represents a compilation of refurbished pieces of furniture and house objects, such as cushions, figurines….. With a clever sense of humor and distinct eye for pastel nuances, she mixes and match, adding rhinestones, cameo as Victorian-drawing prints and flowers. Furniture is from 70’s, ranging from modern to faux-antique. Colors are unusual for furniture – pastels, but quite fresh and elegant, with a bit of a kitsch echo. When I look at her home décor collection, first that comes to my mind is “Alice in wonderland meets Victorian household”, but with a humorous twist. This collection is equally interesting for some really cool modern interior, as well as for a stylish children room or a working nook and a get way to surprise someone.

Anyhow, this is something we are not used to see in Belgrade shops and represents a very interesting way of perceiving old objects.

We expect much more from Iva, as this is only the beginning.
