Ana Ljubinković at London Fashion Week

Exhibiting on the yesterday “L’impossible” of the International Fashion Showcase 2013, Ana Ljubinković proves her presence on the Serbian fashion scene and, I hope, opens the door for presentation of her design throughout the world. Ana’s aesthetics crosses the boundaries of practical, boring and safe. In her research of form she follows her mind flow and coloristic preference, leading us through a fictional and apparently careless world of the candy color palette.

Forms that hardly satisfy tridimensional quality of human body but show its curves and sensuality of female are typical for Ana’s collection. Ironic mingling with angel, deer and line prints as well as her flirt with ” kitsch” iconography prove an intellectual approach to design that characterizes Ana’s creatorship. Each detail of the collection from shoes with deer-horns to a hat with five dimensional laurel make unbreakable connection to model and creates a spectacular perfectly balanced wholeness with no excess details. Her devotion to details can be seen on pearl collars and perfect prints prepared by herself.

These brave and uncompromising collections are rare on the domestic scene and should be praised in a deserving manner. Perceivably, Ana leaves nothing to chance and that is easily noticed.
